Good morning to all on this July 12th.  Superliga is finally upon us.  I will be heading to RFK Stadium to take in Chivas de Guadalajara vs. DC United, so, this will probably be my only post of the day until I get to RFK as I’m spending a day in Washington with the family.  Anyway, since Superliga is here, it’s time for the group stage predictions.  You can see them after the jump.

Group A

CD Guadalajara vs. DC United (1-1)

Houston Dynamo vs. Atlante (0-1)

DC United vs. Atlante (2-0)

CD Guadalajara vs. Houston Dynamo (2-1)

DC United vs. Houston Dynamo (1-0)

CD Guadalajara vs. Atlante (2-0)

DC United and CD Guadalajara will advance to the knock out stages due to DC’s great form, and Guadalajara will over power both Atlante and a weak Houston.

Group B

New England vs. Santos Laguna (2-2)

Chivas USA vs. Pachuca (0-0)

New England vs. Pachuca (2-1)

Chivas USA vs. Santos Laguna (1-0)

New England vs. Chivas USA (3-1)

Santos Laguna vs. Pachuca (0-1)

New England runs away with the group beating Pachuca and Chivas USA and drawing against Santos Laguna.  Chivas ties Pachuca on points, but loses to Pachuca due to inferior goal differential.  

There you have it?  What do you think will happen?  How many American and Mexican teams will we see out of the group stages?  I’m banking on DC and New England, Chivas USA could be a dark horse.  Your thoughts below.
