Paris Saint Germain Interested in Signing Oguchi Onyewu
Oguchi Onyewu has garnered interest from some of Europe’s top clubs including Chelsea and Inter Milan, he’s now close to signing with Paris Saint Germain. European contacts have confirmed that Gooch is sought after by PSG, and a move is not far away.Gooch, who speaks French, has been tracked by teams in France for years, and started his European career with FC Metz, but a move hasn’t come close until now. PSG is looking to buy players so they can make a turnaround from their near relegation last year. Gooch would help solidify a rather shaky defense that allowed 45 goals last year.
This would be a good move for Gooch. He would get to play in a highly competitive league, and he could learn from the style of play in France. The French league is much more high octane and attacking, if Gooch were able to deal with speedy defenders better, he could significantly improve his game. PSG is also a team that expects a lot from their players, an environment that a focused player can thrive in.

I think it is a good move for Gooch, any move up for our US players is pretty good unless they step too far too fast like perhaps Eddie Johnson. This though seems to be good for Gooch I think he will fit in fine in France.

He already knows the language which is a leg up, and PSG is a storied club, they will compete for at least uefa cup this year. He would do well there. And who doesn’t want to live in Paris on a footballers salary. It would be great.

The transfer winds are swirling around US international Oguchi Onyewu. A few days ago, word came that French side Paris St. Germain are interested in the giant Standard Liege centerback. On Sunday, reports out of Italy claimed that Serie A club Lazio are also interested.
“Gooch,” a 6′4″ beast with World Cup experience, could fit in well at Lazio, which is in the market for a central defender who can deal with the big, fast strikers — particularly Roma’s newly acquired Julio Baptista — that have recently arrived in Serie A.
