We hadn’t heard much from Kasey Keller since the end of the season in England, and many speculated that he may be joining MLS.  Keller’s contract expired at the end of the previous season, and Keller at 38 is ready to return to the US, to Seattle in particular.

Today at 2 PM, the Sounders will announce the signing of Keller.  Keller has been one of the most consistent American keepers throughout the years, amassing 16 seasons of European play, not to mention 102 caps for the US National Team.

This is a good move for the Sounders.  They add a local player (Keller is from Washington) and continue to give the fans what they are looking for, a team that is built for the fans.  The anticipation is palpable for the opening of MLS 2009 in Seattle, and the move for Keller only builds the anticipation higher.

What are your thoughts on the move?  Will Keller be a good addition?  Are you guys excited about Seattle in 2009?  Your thoughts below.
