Heath Pearce Being Tracked by Dortmund

Tag: UncategorizedMax Zeger @ 1:59 pm

American left-back, Heath Pearce is attracting some interest from Borussia Dortmund according to reports out of Germany.  Pearce was told after the season in which Rostock was relegated, that his current club, Hansa Rostock, would be keeping him on, but it appears the interest from Dortmund might be too strong.

Pearce would have immediate playing time if he left for Dortmund due to the injury that occurred yesterday to Dede, Dortmund’s current left back.  He will be out for at least half the season and Pearce will have plenty of time to get himself situated.

This is the ideal move for Pearce.  He gets to play in the Bundesliga 1 again for a team with European aspirations.  I’m also hoping that if he moves, he can convince Nevin Subotic to play for the US (Let’s Hope!).  If Subotic does decide to play for the US, Pearce will already be comfortable with a player Nevin when they go into the US National Team Camp.  Wouldn’t that be nice.

What do you think of the move?  Isn’t this the ideal move for him?  Do you think this would help the prospects of Subotic playing for the US.  Your thoughts below.

Hopefully this is more than just talk as this would be an excellent move for him.

his agent said that this would probably happen in the next five days, so it should happen this week if it does. It’s a good move for Pearce, and a logical move for both parties, I don’t see why it shouldn’t happen.
