Freddy Adu Officially Loaned to Monaco
Freddy Adu has officially made his move to Monaco. Since Benfica signed Pablo Aimar, they were happy to let Adu go. The loan move has a view to a permanent move in the event that Monaco wants to keep Adu in a longer term move. Adu might hold a press conference from California where he is currently training with the Olympic Squad.
This was the move all American fans were waiting for. We have all seen what Adu can do when given the opportunity and at Monaco, he should be able to start immediately. Adu will miss the first bit of the season due to his participation with the U-23 squad, so he might not see playing time with Monaco until late August or early September.
What do you think of this move? Is it good for Adu? Special thanks to Chuck for alerting me to Freddy’s loan deal be official. Leave your thoughts below.

I like the move. I don’t know much about Monaco other then they’re a middle of the pack Ligue 1 side and have an American club president. Since this move seems to have been in the works for some time Monaco must feel Freddy can come in a make an immediate impact. Freddy has really impressed me in recent appearences and I think he should do well in France. His creativeness is really going to shine this year, just a hunch.

Jermey Menez would probably start in the same position but he will probably be sold so Freddy is in the clear. Monaco is a club with a strong tradition, they were in the Champions League final in 2004. However, now they’re mid table but have ambitions to win the league again and compete in the Champions League. The president was part of the US Soccer administration and is an American citizen. He wants to enhance the teams image world wide.
