Eddie Johnson Loaned to Cardiff City

Apparently, Cardiff really wanted an American striker.  As reported earlier on YS, Eddie Johnson will be joining Cardiff City on a year long loan.  The move comes after Fulham have spent heavily on Offensive re-enforcements, and Johnson figured to be out of the picture for playing time.

Fulham retain the option to call back Johnson in January, and as far as we know, the deal doesn’t have an option to buy at the end.

This was honestly the best thing for Johnson.  He wasn’t going to play for Fulham, and know he moves to a team in the Championship that needs a striker.  The Championship is a competitive league that is more on the level of MLS, a league Johnson did well in.  Johnson will probably be a starter for Cardiff, and he will not only gain the playing time he desires, but he will also get some experience playing week in, week out in a competitive European league.

What are your thoughts on Johnson joining Cardiff.  Was it the right move for him?  Will he succeed in the Championship?  Any thoughts go below.
