Cardiff City is Still Interested in Kenny Cooper

When will it end, Kenny Cooper’s transfer saga started at the beginning of July, it’s still going.  Even after FC Dallas firmly said that Kenny Cooper won’t be going anywhere, Cardiff City is still interested in securing Cooper’s services.

“It has been made a little bit more difficult because we are dealing far away with the MLS. But is it dead and buried? No, it is not dead and buried yet,” Jones told Welsh tabloid The Western Mail on Thursday. “I did not even know it was supposed to be dead and buried until you told me.”

This makes for an interesting turn of events considering Dallas doesn’t want Cooper leaving and Cardiff still thinks they have a chance to sign him.

If Cooper stays, it would be much more beneficial for him and Dallas.  Dallas needs him to get to the playoffs and Cooper will most likely demand a higher transfer fee if sold in the winter.  Not to mention that if Cooper continues his scoring run, he could find himself at a premier league club instead of a championship side.

Walter Jones had more to say:

“With Kenny Cooper everything was quiet, moving along nicely and suddenly all hell breaks loose and other clubs are alerted.  It became a major stumbling block because other clubs made enquiries and why is a player then not going to listen to those?”

If Dallas receives an offer of $5 million, can Dallas really turn down that money?  It’s a question that will most likely be haunting them very soon.

What do you think of Cardiff’s persistence?  If Dallas get a $5 million offer, should they sell him?  Your thoughts below.
