Bryan Arguez Skipping Practice
If you guys remember, Bryan was drafted by DC United and never played a lick. So, last winter, he went on trial with Hertha Berlin and was rated quite highly by Hertha. The Berlin club secured Arguez’s contract for only $300,000 and Arguez was off to Germany. He featured sparingly off the bench for the second half of the season but always impressed. At 19 years of age, this was an impressive feat for anyone, let alone an American who never played for an MLS team. Arguez had a good preseason and was set to see some starts in the early stages of the season due to an injury to Steve Von Bergen. However, according to reports in the Berlin Press, Arguez has repeatedly showed up late to practice and in two cases, skipped entirely. Most recently, Arguez skipped practice to join 200,000 people who watched Barack Obama speak in Berlin.
This is not anything we want to see from a young American who has a bright career ahead of him, especially when he was set to see some starts in a highly competitive league like the Bundesliga. Hopefully Arguez can get his act together and prove he’s worthy of some starts.
What do you think of Arguez skipping practice? Has he ruined his chance at starting? Your thoughts below.

Unfortunately we’ve seen this before with fellow Yank Heath Pearce who lost a lot of playing time for showing up late after the Winter break. He sat out much of the second half of the season and was only brought back into the lineup when other went down to injury. unfortunately for Arguez the transfer period is still on going so despite him playing well in others abscence he can be replaced and word is that he’ll be dropped. A big step backwards for him who looked to be very involved with the first team this season.
