Brad Friedel (Bidding War Mania) Arsenal, Villa, City
Brad Friedel, the keeper who doesn’t age might just be the hottest American transfer target of the Summer. Friedel who plays for Blackburn has been told that he might not be the No. 1 next year at Ewood Park. New manager Paul Ince is looking at younger options, possibly a loan move for Scott Carson, or Ben Foster. Since the consistent Friedel has come available, his old manager, Mark Hughes wants to bring him to Manchester City. Today, we saw two more teams jump into the race.Martin O’neill, manager of Aston Villa says he is mulling over a bid for Friedel. This comes as a shock because Villa is close to signing Brad Guzan from Chivas USA. O’neill is rumored to have $5 million ready to go after Friedel.
The surprise bidder in the Friedel sweepstakes is Arsenal. Arsene Wenger has long been an admirer of Friedel and could make a shock bid for Friedel’s services.
What do you think about Friedel potentially moving? What is the best destination for him, or should he stay? Your thoughts below.

Hope he doesn’t bump Guzan out of Villa’s plans. I’d like to see him go to the Emirates

I hope he goes to Arsenal because City will have pressure to play Hart. At Arsenal, he can win the starting job outright, Almunia is nothing special. I certainly don’t want Guzan to be out of a contract because of Friedel.

I agree Max, Arsenal would be best. That and we would have three keepers in the top five of the EPL, starting! that would be nice.

Selling Friedel would alianate Blackburn fans against new manager Ince big time. Freidel is a living legend at Blackburn.

that’s a great point Blackburn fan. My impression though is Friedel isn’t all that happy with ince as the new manager so maybe he wants to leave. Letting Hughes go was a big mistake.
