Benny Feilhaber Close to Move to Denmark
Not only have all of us been keen to watch Benny Feilhaber in China, we’ve also been keen to find out where he would be moving to as Derby County have been eager to let him go on a free transfer and dump his salary.
I just received word from a reliable source that Feilhaber is close to joining AGF Aarhus, a team that also has fellow American Jeremiah White. White was in the January US National Team camp and played briefly against Sweden.
Many of us would like to see Feilhaber come back to MLS, but it seems as if he is eager to stay in Europe, even if it means playing in a third-tier European league. According to sources close to Feilhaber, he is looking for first team action in order to get back into the national team picture.
I’m not that sure about Feilhaber moving to a team in Denmark. Bob Bradley practically ignores the Scandanavian teams when scouting in Europe, and a move to Denmark would make him fall out of view even more. A move to MLS would have him in Bob Bradley’s backyard and good form in MLS could have him back in the picture right away.
If Feilhaber goes, he will join a growing contingent of Americans plying their trade in Denmark. To name a few, Danny Califf, Jeremiah White, and Lee Nguyen.
Would this be the right move for Feilhaber? What do you think of the growing contingent of Americans in Denmark? Should he come back to MLS? Your thoughts below.
