Benny Feilhaber Called up for USMNT Game Vs. Honduras
Bob Bradley apparently was not so pleased with his central midfielders in the game vs. Grenada. Feilhaber has been called into camp ahead of the toughest group match against Honduras at RFK. Read on…
Does this spell the end of the Beckerman-Pause tandem in the middle of the park… probably. I don’t think it was that the two of them were poor, I think it is that Bob Bradley would like to have a more offensive and creative midfielder to pair with a more defensive one behind Adu. I think we’ll see a 4-4-1-1 on Wednesday. The back line is up in the air, but I’d guess that the midfield and attack remain in tact with the exception of Feilhaber sliding in in central midfield for either Pause or Beckerman.
How do you guys like this move? I can’t complain, Feilhaber is of a higher class than any midfielder on this squad, so he’s an immediate upgrade. Thoughts?

Pull Beckerman, he’s too old to matter much anymore, let the young guys get their experience…and Feilhaber counts as one to me.

I think you have the right line of thought. Beckerman has no future really, where as pause does. I also wouldn’t mind seeing Holden in the middle, and adu out wide. When adu plays, he usually gets the keys, so it would be interesting to see him when he wasn’t the playmaker

goodson came up with a knee contusion on saturday, so we will probably see a marshall/parkhurst duo…unless Conrad is back from being injured.
Feilhaber could replace Adu, if Bradley thinks he is a liability. I also want to see a two striker duo up top. Ching is out (probably) so that leaves Cooper to get the start which isn’t the best partner for Davies, but I would like to see how effective Davies can be with another striker pairing him up and holding it up while he runs off the ball.

I suspect we will see parkhurst Conrad or Marshall Conrad. As for adu, I suspect he’ll be used in the same role. Bob wants to know where he stacks up against quality opponents, and this is one of the best chances to see. If adu plays which is likely, we probably see one striker up top, and that will be either Cooper or davies.
